If You Don't Mind, I Prefer To Speak From The Heart
The heart is larger than the mind.
Truth flows through the veins.
Troubled minds block extraordinary finds.
Without a heart we can not appreciate intellectual gains.
We must use, speak, and share our mind.
Even so mankind must be open to love and peace.
The past reveals experience even if unkind.
Without the hearts acceptance our growth would cease.
Looking at life's facts alone lacks true reason.
When one possesses an open mind the heart grows.
Learned lessons by books, by our actions deny thoughts treason.
The heart can be a bit heavy at times, but knowledge flows.
Mankind tends to invoke panic, to spread fear.
Leaving an individual to determine wrong from right.
The message is received but the reaction isn't always clear.
By obtaining the hearts wisdom our mind will not lose sight.

Seeing Is Not Believing
Here of late, I sit and wait.
I anticipate the awakening, of myself.
I dread a stroll by a mirror, almost hate.
Still, I gaze into it, I see my souls wealth.
I can see through the pupils of my eyes.
The lines, the worry on my face.
Aging with time, my plans, I must devise.
Merely standing there, denies me my purpose, my place.
With my reflections and the ticking of life's clock, I look.
Being human we too are like reflecting glass.
Standing before me, is a man that is not an open book.
In an instant we too can break by sharp force, but it will pass.
I wake up each day with hope and worry.
Walking passed the shadows of my youth, with my present reflection.
My wish is that time will not hurry.
I share my love with others, with the knowledge of our souls perfection.

The Strongest Currents Can Lead To Peace
7/3/09
Life is sometimes free and flowing.
Surroundings can hold a glorious view.
Each stone or step allows the soul to continue growing.
The choice to see the truth is up to you.
Water travels gently down its path.
The currents flow can run it's cool liquid against the rocks.
Even so, the flow continues a spiritual bath.
Downward it can go, just don't forget dry socks.
Strong and true as the water is blue.
We flow forward, bravely, we must!
Without a life vest, paddle, or canoe.
Another test, the water we must trust.
Keeping faith in life, ourselves, and god above.
The rapids and the falls will not defeat our spirit.
All bodies of water connect, they join in love.
My heart beats as I freely flow, can you hear it?

My Heart Can Sleepwalk
7/2/09
Mankind can travel many miles to find beautiful things.
One might roam endlessly to nowhere.
Travel to forget dilemmas, to realize memories cling.
Walk till the soles of the shoes become bare.
Worn through to the blisters of the feet.
A soul can scream for mercy, it can ache.
Town to town and on the street.
Sometimes the heart will know which road to take.
Until then, I will dream with smiles.
I will hold my head high.
I will walk my mental miles.
I must use my third eye.
Eat, sleep, and weep.
Laugh, grin, and speak.
Pay your dues, earn your keep.
Walk tall, and nothing is bleak.
